Information Collection and Use
Ascendview LLC is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. This information will not be sold, shared, or rented to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. Ascendview LLC collects information from users at several different points on the website.
Certain required information provided when purchasing Ascendview software products is used in the following manner:
Contact information necessary to identify the customer includes customer name and email address. This information is required in order to process an electronic purchase receipt, which contains information relating to the purchase, including instructions for downloading and installing the software and the serial number of the software purchased. The email address may also be used to contact the customer regarding problems processing the order. Verification of the name and email address are used for security purposes by Ascendview Customer Service personnel with regard to any customer inquiries about a software purchase. Information pertaining to a customer software purchase will only be provided at the email address used for that purchase. The name and email information may also be used to contact the customer about Ascendview software products available on the web site. Customers will have the option to Opt-out or Discontinue any future email updates regarding Ascendview software products or solicitations if they so choose. A Referrer is the information conveyed by a web browser to reference which web site a Ascendview visitor was directed from. This Referrer is automatically collected by the Ascendview web server, and is used to identify broad demographic trends concerning use of the web site. Customers are not personally identified by this information.
IP addresses are used by computers every time a user is connected to the Internet. The IP address serves as a unique identifier, allowing computers to read and identify other computers on the network. Ascendview web sites automatically collect IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user movement, and gather broad demographic information about web site use. Ascendview will not use customer IP addresses to identify any personal information.
Sharing of Information
If a user elects to use the Ascendview Referral Service for informing a friend about this site, required information would include the friend’s name and email address. The referral contact will automatically receive a one-time email inviting them to visit the site. This information will not be stored by Ascendview and the referral recipient will not be contacted again using this information.
Information collected by Ascendview is stored in secure operating environments that are not available to the public. All Ascendview employees are dedicated to maintaining and upholding customer privacy and security, and are aware of company privacy and security policies. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed 100% secure. As a result, while striving to protect the personal information of customers, Ascendview cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information transmitted to this site, and customers do so at their own risk. Once received on the Ascendview system, customer transmissions will be handled with due diligence in efforts to ensure security. The Ascendview web site purchase forms ask users to enter sensitive personal information (such as credit card number and/or social security number). This highly sensitive information is encrypted and protected with the best encryption software in the industry - SSL. While on a secure page, such as the Ascendview purchase order form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when a user is just ‘surfing’.
Registered customers will occasionally receive information on Ascendview products, services, and special offers. Out of respect for the privacy of each user, the option to decline these types of communications is available. Please see the Opt-out and Discontinue policy below to inquire further in this matter.
Correction/Updating Personal Information:
If customer personal information changes, such as email address, Ascendview will immediately upon notification by the customer, correct, update, or remove, if so designated, that user’s personal information previously provided. This can be done by contacting Customer Support via email.
Opt-out and Discontinue
A Ascendview customer may elect to avoid future communications from Ascendview and have the option to either send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org requesting to discontinue, or by selecting Unsubscribe and indicate the email address along with a request to discontinue future communications. Under urgent circumstances, Ascendview may be required to send a customer pertinent information about their software purchase, but this contact will not contain unsolicited communication regarding commercial offers or advertisements if a customer has previously indicated to Opt-out or Discontinue this type of communication.
